Lamont – What a story! Pulled out
of a feedlot as a heifer, becomes a Cornerstone dam in an all AI
herd. Rags to riches and one of Michigan’s Cornerstone dams. Lamont
is a big, eye appealing brood cow with a great, easy-going approach
to life. She is stout footed, square hipped, deep bodied with a lot
of rib. She tips the scale at 2100 pounds, with a BCS of 7. Her MPPA
CHAPS ratio is 104 with a calving interval of 363 days for 10
calves. Lamont is the favorite cow of many and is double registered
as a Shorthorn.
Lamont, is also the poster cow for Michigan’s bovine TB eradication
project and the ID brochure, and unlike other stars it hasn’t gone
to her head! Lamont is confirmed bred to Elbee’s Gizmo for a Jan 10,
2008 calf.
